Erica and Alyssa | Momma & Me

Certain times in your life, people are placed within your path and you know that it was God's work. Miss Erica was part of one of those times. While we both would agree that we wish we could have met under much different circumstances, I can speak for myself when I say that I am so very grateful that our paths have crossed.

She is a true testiment and example of a courageous woman, a loving and adorning mom, but most of all a survivor.

She has become an advocate for SIDS and I am truly honored and blessed to call her friend.

Here are some peeks at a photo session I did for her and her daughter. And we snuck in miss alyssa's bestie for a few shots :)

Remembering sweet Avery!

Moriah, Caleb and a sweet little boy

This client came to me as a referral. I had such fun getting to know them but especially getting to meet their little man!

At first he didn't want much to do with me or the camera, but after some tossing around a few tickles and laughs, he was all about it! He ended up doing all the things we wanted him to do without much coaxing.

Hope you enjoy :)

Tutt Family | April 2012

When Kristen initially contacted me and told me 'family of 8' I must admit I broke out into a slight cold sweat! Not only a family of 8, but to include 2 young ones and a pup. Man, I was nervous.. but those nerves quickly turned around and left once I met this family. Already having met and become good friends with 'Tutty' as we call her and Miss Brenda, the rest of the fam made me feel right at home!

From bribing the boys with bubbles and gummy bears, to tempting Allybaba with doggy treats to grandad coming up with the best of poses and spots.. (he should be my assistant! he had a great eye!!) my nerves were calmed and I felt right at home.

This family will have PLENTY of photos to chose from and I am so grateful to have gotten a glimpse into their family dynamics. Here's a few of the fun we got to encounter! Come along!! :)

I'm kinda official now! :)

Because of Hers website has gotten an overhaul! I am so pleased and excited to launch my most awesomely perfectly beautiful website!! Design and heart put into this site by none other then Franchesca Cox over at Small Bird Studios

Franchesca also did the design on my personal blog and when I started this venture into unknown territory of photography.. I knew she was the one I needed to call upon. With my inspiration set forth by my daughter Savanna, a personal vision, combined with the brilliance and talent of Fran, she was able to create the site that you see before you.

So beautifully constructed I am pleased to launch my very own Because of Her Photography web page!

It is still under much needed construction.. so check back from time to time to see what we've done ;)

In the mean time, enjoy the view, sneak at the moments captured, and I hope you feel and see the stories I have been telling all through the lens of my camera.

Crisp Family

Living in Texas you always see the infamous blue bonnet pictures... FINALLY I got a chance to take some pictures in these little lovelies.. and now I know what the hype is all about! The photos just don't do the gorgeous bonnets justice!

And of course, we can't forget about the sweet family I got to photograph as well. This little bit had tons of energy and was so curious about EVERYTHING! Which definitely made for lots and lots of photo-ops! Not to mention her momma and daddy were amazing!

The second half of our session led us to a house on the lake where it just so happens they were also married at! How sweet is that?!? I so enjoyed this family and the beautiful scenery offered as a backdrop.

Here are a few peeks at the fun we encountered :)

Hamaker Family

What a sweet an awesome family! I have the privilege of working with the momma and was so incredibly honored to take their family/easter photos. We had a blast and their girls were awesome! Their youngest acted as my little assistant and insisted on carrying my bags for me. She was a trooper.

I soo enjoyed watching their family dynamics!

Here are some peeks :)

Sweet little kiddos

These little tykes were a blast! I seem to always say that.. but I guess when you love what you're doing it's ALWAYS fun! It took a little minute for sweet little B man to warm up to me, but once he got used to the camera click click clicking, he was all smiles all the time. Big sis was ready for her close-up straight from the top. We had so much fun picking flowers, chasing butterflies and going down the slide!

Always a workout to chase the kiddos around, but always worth it when I see the smiles and the adornment and innocence that is captured through such a small and insignificant piece of a lens.

Enjoy! :)

Allison and her 3 boys

This sweet momma has got her hands full with the most precious 3 boys.. 10 years old, 8 years old, and 3months (almost 4) Each one of them with their own personalities and full of life! I absolutely adored capturing these boys in their 'boy' moments of wrestling, sweet moments with baby bro, and unconditional love with their momma.

Such an easy-going fam that let me pose them and put them wherever and however I wanted.. A session made in Heaven! :)

Baby Rory

What a treat this little bundling ball of joy was! Her sweet inquiring mind kept us all on our toes!
At 9 months old, Rory was up, down, sideways, all over! I had such a blast capturing this sweet little milestone.. and her eyes will capture your heart and suck you in. You can't help but smile when you look into those darling blue eyes.

Michaela | 2012 Senior

This was my very first Senior portrait session.. and let me tell you I LOVED IT!! We had so much fun and got to see such cool sites in the Dallas area. We started off at their house... yes the wooded areas are their house!! Sooo beautiful! There was a slight overcast that added that perfect softness to each portrait! Next we headed to her high school to take some cap/gown pics and then on to downtown Dallas. We headed to a wall in downtown that miss michaela had her eye on since 8th grade! I was so happy to capture some pics for her at this location.. next we just kinda drove around until we found some good spots!

Was such a great experience and I am so glad I was able to capture such special moments for her and her family. Congrats Miss Michaela!! You're life is really beginning now!!

Here are some peeks at what we did :)
